This was a great weekend! I got some cards and made a new friend. But not just any friend, a card collecting friend.
My wife went on a walk around the neighborhood and we had forgotten that it was the neighborhood yard sale day. I like to poke around usually but there’s really never anything I want. It’s at least something to do. But on her walk she found someone just selling cards and a few other things. I headed over as quick as I could.
I took a bunch of boxes of cards that were mostly someone else’s “extras.” But you know I don’t mind that because I’m looking for cards for TTM. I got enough cards that I’ll be looking for a good bit and going through it over and over.
But maybe more importantly, I met a new friend. We shared IG and Twitter handles and found we had 50 follows in common. It’s always fun to find those “small world” scenarios. I recommend giving Sean a follow on IG at @seanssportscards and on Twitter at @sthvt. He’s a good dude, even if he is a Nats/Caps/DC fan (*wink*).
Hope you have a great week!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Tommie Sisk
- Tuesday: Steve Cooke, Roger Craig
- Wednesday: Joe Pettini
- Thursday: Jim Acker
- Friday: Matt Merullo
- Saturday: Tony La Russa
- Sunday: Ken Macha
Another week where I could have planned the #twofortuesday better. I should have put those San Francisco Giants posts together. Overall though a pretty random baseball week.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Dougie Fresh…
- Tuesday: Roy boy…
- Tuesday: God bless you please Mr. Robinson…
- Wednesday: It’s Hump-hery Day…
- Thursday: Clean your Guetters…
- Friday: F**k…
- Saturday: Count Full Count…
- Sunday: I hope he didn’t Swindell anyone…
Maybe some better planning this week, at least for Wednesday. Some of these dudes are repeaters, but there’s a tiny bit of football in there too for this week.
Other Notes
Back to a slow week and April closes out with a dud. Helping the slow week was not actually receiving any mail for two days this week. That means the mail wasn’t picked up so things didn’t go out when I thought they would either. It’s getting a bit annoying. But according to Informed Delivery, it’s probably wouldn’t have mattered that much anyway. Still disappointing overall. Hopefully may picks back up.
Have a great week!
It was a pleasure meeting you, and thanks for the shout-out! Great to know that I’m not the only one in the neighborhood making our postal carrier’s bag too heavy!
