Review / Preview – Week of 12/21

TTM Review Preview

It’s Christmas week so I hope you have all of your shopping done. And I hope most of it was online shopping at that. I have kids so that’s where the bulk of the work goes.

Most of the adults in the family basically have a rule of no gifts for other adults. There are exceptions made if there’s something really special that we feel is perfect for someone. But there’s no need otherwise because my feeling is that as an adult with a paycheck, I can get what I want whenever I want.

There’s only one portion of the family we exchange gifts with who are adults. It always feels impossible to buy for them even when they ask for specific things. I really don’t want to ask people what they want unless they are a kid. Of course when they ask me what I want I know exactly what to tell them… junk wax.

I always ask for a cheap box of junk wax I find on Amazon or eBay. It’s perfect for TTM cards, like you’ve seen in my posts, but it’s also just nostalgia of course. So I know I have some of that coming my way. I specifically asked for some football and hockey so I can get into some other things.

What have your asked for? What are you getting your family who might be into the hobby?

Stay safe out there!

The Review

Here’s what happened on the blog last week:

A couple things I noticed this week. First, there were two guys named Gary and a Garrelts this week. That’s entirely too many “Gar” names for just one week. Second, my hashtag these are getting pretty long in recent weeks. That won’t really change next week. I know I misspelled it at least once for this #ileftmyheartinsanfrancisco theme.

The Preview

Here’s what I have coming up for this week:

  • Monday: Two first names, one male and one female…
  • Tuesday: Sounds like toad…
  • Tuesday: I love Lamp…
  • Wednesday: Bru Crew (although it doesn’t really sound like brew)…
  • Thursday: Kendall doll…
  • Friday: A fellow Long Island boy…
  • Saturday: Steve with the -ski…
  • Sunday: Don’t forget your Coates…

This coming week we will be exploring #imshippinguptoboston. Yes, another long hashtag but with a Boston theme. I’m covering two sports in this one and somehow this time it will be mostly skewing towards football.

Other Notes

The weekly returns have been somewhat steady but it’s been a little disappointing not to have any breakout weeks like I’ve had in other months. I had 11 returns this week which isn’t bad, but I’m kind of waiting for a big one. I almost thought with holidays there might be some more signing going on since I would assume there isn’t as much people are doing, but it hasn’t turned out that way.

I’m up to 301 in the backlog so I just eked over the 300 mark.

Stay safe and healthy out there!
