The Story of the Autograph
Jay Bell is a former shortstop and second baseman in the major leagues. He’s an two-time All-Star, Silver Slugger and Gold Glove Award winner and World Series Champion who played from 1986 to 2003. He played for the Cleveland Indians, Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Mets.

The Score on Jay Bell – 7.5
Jay doesn’t have a long name, but he always makes his signature pretty big. I think one of the things I noticed this time is that he pretty much signs everything sideways. I’m not sure if it because that’s how it comes out of the envelope, or that’s the angle of his hand, or what. No matter the reason he’s consistent about it. I like the ’02 Topps in this return because I don’t have many D-Backs signatures in my collection.
