The Story of the Autograph
James Edwards is a former center in the NBA. He played from 1977 to 1995 with the Los Angeles Lakers (twice), Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls.
Edwards was born and raised in Washington state. He went to college at the University of Washington and played for the first Huskies team to make the NCAA Tournament since the 50’s in the 1975-76 season. They finished the season ranked at no. 11. The Lakers drafted him in the third round of the 1977 NBA Draft with the 46th overall pick.
He was part of three NBA championship teams, two in Detroit when they went back-to-back in 1988-89 and 1990-91, and then for the Bulls later on. As you would expect he played his best seasons earlier in his career when he averaged about 15-17 points from his rookie season through his first year in Cleveland. He had some more good years in Phoenix and then some more good years during the Pistons run.

I think James has a good signature on there but the problem with these is the normal problem for basketball cards in general. Everthing is just so busy. Then of course there’s the Skybox cards which are pretty much black. Still, I always feel like I have to get a signature on something.
