The Story of the Autograph
Tracy Woodson is a former third baseman and current college baseball manager. He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals from 1987 through 1993.
Woodson was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He went to college at North Carolina State with others who would become professional ballplayers like Dan Plesac and Doug Strange. The Dodgers drafted him in the third round of the 1984 MLB Draft and he made his major league debut for them on April 7, 1987.
He only spent parts of three seasons with the Dodgers in the majors and never played in more than 65 games in a season. But he was part of their 1988 World Series Championship team. The Dodgers traded him to the White Sox in 1989 and then was released in 1990. He went to the Braves via free agency and then the Cardinals where he next appeared in the majors in 1992 and 1993.
After his playing career was done he managed in the minors between 1998 and 2004. Since 2007 he’s coached at the college level for Valparaiso and since 2014 at Richmond University.
The Score on Tracy Woodson – 7.0
Tracy has a pretty solid signature. As always the blue signature on the Dodgers cards looks righteous! I can always go for blue marker for blue teams. It does look like Tracy might be a “3-per” guy because I didn’t get my fourth card back, but it’s hard to tell because I’ve only ever tried sending to him this once.
Thanks Mr. Woodson! I’m giving this return a 7.
