The Story of the Autograph
Tony La Russa is a former player and currently the manager of the Chicago White Sox. The Hall of Famer, three time Worlds Series winner and four-time manager of the year played for the Kansas City/Oakland A’s, Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs. He later managed the Chicago White Sox (now in his second stint), Oakland Athletics, and St. Louis Cardinals.

Tony may have done some odd things as a manager this season, but he sure is a good signer. There is a little smudge on his number on the 1991 Topps card, but the regular part of the autograph came out fine. Tony is a guy that tries to find the right part of the cards to sign, signs small, and sometimes as you can see with this, he doesn’t necessarily move the card to sign in the standard direction.
