The Story of the Autograph
Tom Brunansky is a former outfielder in the major leagues. He played from 1981 to 1994 with the Angels, Twins, Cardinals, Red Sox (twice) and Brewers.
Brunansky, nicknamed “Bruno”, was born and raised in Covina, California. He was drafted by the California Angels out of high school in the first round of the 1978 MLB Draft with the fourteenth overall pick. He made his debut with the Angels on April 9, 1981, but only played that one season with them before being traded to the Twins for Doug Corbett and Rob Wilfong.
He became a big part of the Twins outfield and hit at least 20 home runs for them for he rest of his time as a Twin, plus a couple more years with the Cardinals (nine consecutive years). He made his one and only All-Star team in 1985 but his best season for a few different reasons was probably 1987 in which he his 32 homers (tied a career high) with 85 RBI, 11 stolen bases, and a .259 average to help the Twins with the 1987 World Series.
He was dealt to the Cardinals for Tom Herr early the next season. He stayed with St. Louis for a couple years before being traded again, this time for Lee Smith. After his time with the Cardinals his productions slowed down a bit.
This is my second successful return from Brunansky. For more about him and to see the first success, check out my post from June 2017.
The Score on Tom Brunansky – 6.5
I lost track of Tom for a little bit. A while ago I had gotten a failure from him and I didn’t have a new address to try. I found out a good address and took a chance again. I’m glad because he has one of my favorite signature, especially his “B”. HE did a really great job on these and it’s fun to see the Twins powder blues.
Thanks Mr. Brunansky! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
