The Story of the Autograph

Tim Goad is a defensive tackle in the National Football League. He played from 1988 to 1996 with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.

Goad was born and raised in Virginia. He played offensive and defensive tackle in high school and then went on to North Carolina to play with the Tar Heels as a defensive lineman. The Patriots drafted him with the 87th overall pick in the fourth round of the 1988 NFL Draft.

He would play for the Patriots for the majority of his career from 1988 to 1994. After his time in New England he went on to Cleveland. We can’t really say HE moved to Baltimore as it was more of the franchise that did the moving for him. But none-the-less he spent one year each in Cleveland and Baltimore to close out his football career. He never had more than three sacks in any given season with 14.5 for his career. His best total tackles was 89 in 1990.

You could look at Goad as a multi-sport star. After he finishing in the NFL he moved into NASCAR. In 1998 he became the jackman for the Wood Brothers Racing Team. He later served as pit coach. He also became a professional bass fisherman.

The Score on Tim Goad – 5.5

Tim is a big dude but his signature is on the small side. It’s definitely not the smallest we’ve ever seen though. In the end it’s a fine size on the card. But like a lot of football signatures it just gets buried a bit on the business of the card.

Thanks Mr. Goad! I’m giving this return a 5.5
