The Story of the Autograph

Terry Humphrey is a former catcher in the major leagues. He played from 1971 through 1979 with the Expos, Tigers and Angels.

Humphrey was born in Oklahoma but raised in southern California. He kind of made the opposite trip when it came to college where he started out at Los Angeles City College and then went to the Univeristy of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Expos drafted him in the 39th round of the 1969 MLB Draft. He debuted on September 5, 1971 and was the second Expos they had in their farm system to make the team.

He was mostly used as a backup during his career because of his offensive struggles. For his career he only hit .211 with a .265 OBP. And for the most part, he never played more than 71 games.

That all changed in 1977 when he appeared in 123 games. He still struggled, but with more chances came some better stats. Humphrey hit .227 that year with career highs in homers (2) and RBI (34) as well as some other categories.

The Score on Terry Humphrey – 5.5

Terry has a pretty standard signature. It looks like he is a “First Initial, Last Name” type of guy. It came out pretty well on all the cards, but it’s not the most exciting signature in the work. Still, he used a nice marker and they came out great.

Thanks Mr. Humphrey! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
