The Story of the Autograph
Stephen Vogt is a catcher in the major leagues and is currently playing for the Milwaukee Brewers. He’s been in the league since 2012 and has also played for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Oakland Athletics.
Stephen was drafted by the Rays in the 12th round of the 2007 Draft. He came up through their system and made his debut with them in April of 2012 against the Yankees. He would get 25 at bats that year but couldn’t come up with a hit and only ended up with two walks and two strikeouts.
In April of the next year, the Rays traded Vogt to the Athletics. He would play as a reserve that year and appear in 47 games. He made an appearance in the postseason against the Tigers in the ALDS and in Game 2 he hit a game-winning walk-off RBI single in the 9th inning to win the game 1-0. He didn’t make the team coming out of Spring Training the next year, but would be back with the team by June and play in 84 games.
2015 and 2016 were really great years for Stephen. He made the All-Star Game both years with his best year being 2015. That year he hit .261 with 18 homers and 17 RBI. But 2017 brought on a slump while he was in Oakland where he was hitting only .217. The A’s designated him for assignment and the Brewers pick him up off of waivers.
The Score on Stephen Vogt – 6.5
I really love how that Stadium Club card came out. I used a little eraser on that before I sent it and I think that helped. I didn’t want to take a chance with that. Stephen really has a mix of a planned and a quick signature. The “S” and the “V” look planned but the rest kind of looks like it’s quick. The signature on the archives card looks quicker while the Stadium Club card has a hieroglyphics feel like a Jim Acker auto. If you are new to the TTM game you should definitely send to Stephen as he’s on of the more reliable signers these days.
Thanks Mr. Vogt. I’m giving these a 6.5.
