The Story of the Autograph
Stan Humphries is a former quarterback in the NFL. He played for the Washington Redskins from 1988 through 1991 and the San Diego Chargers from 1992 through 1997.
Humphries was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He played his college football at what was then called Northeast Louisiana and is now called the University of Louisiana at Monroe. There he led the team to the 1987 Division I-AA Champioship game. That was good enough for the Redskins to draft him in the sixth round of the 1988 NFL Draft.
Humphries was a back up to start his career and made his first start in 1990 against the Cardinals. He ended up getting five starts that year with Mark Rypien hurt. The next year he never played in a game but earned a ring when the Redskins won Super Bowl XXVI.
The Redskins traded Humphries to the Chargers before the 1992 season. This was because the incumbent starter for the Chargers, John Friesz, was hurt in the preseason. Because the Chargers and Redskins ran the same offense he excelled. He led the Chargers to the AFC Playoffs with a separated shoulder. He would continue his great play into the 1994 season when he led the Chargers to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately they played the juggernaut 49ers with Steve Young and Jerry Rice and were beat 49-26.
In 1997 he retired after several concussions. His best season was probably 1995 when he passed for a career high 3,381 yards (a career high) and 17 touchdowns.

I like Stan’s signature. He definitely looks to change it based on the card because the 1991 Fleer card is more of a stacked signature than the others. But my favorite is the 1990 Topps card. I hope I can find some more good cards for him to sign.
