The Story of the Autograph

Ross Stripling is a pitcher with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He’s been in the majors since 2016 and as spent the entire time in Los Angeles.

Stripling was born in Pennsylvania but grew up in Texas. He went to college at Texas A&M. He was originally drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 2011 MLB Draft but chose not so sign. In the next year’s draft the Dodgers drafted him and he signed.

In 2014 he received a non-roster invite to Spring Training but had a sore arm after his first action that spring. He ended up having Tommy John surgery and missed the entire season. He would next play again in the middle of the 2015 season.

In 2016 he made it to the bigs as the Dodgers fifth man in the rotation and debuted on April 8, 2016. He worked as both a reliever and a starter that year and had a little bit of a rough time. He was good enough to make the post season roster and pitch in relief but didn’t far well there either.

2017 saw him pitching almost entirely in relief and he made some improvements. Then last year in 2018 he split time between relief and starting and improved even more. He ended up with an 8-6 record with a 3.02 ERA and 136 Ks. He was good enough to earn an All-Star nod mid-year.

The Dodgers and their fans are hoping for a big year from Stripling in 2019.

Ross has a good signature and I love that he chose to sign in Dodger-blue. It goes so well with these cards. He has a pretty good sized signature for this, but doesn’t necessarily fill up the card. Its not the fanciest signature ever, but it gets the job done.

Thanks Mr. Stripling! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
