I’m going to keep this story a little vague because it’s not necessarily my story…
This weekend was my wife’s big fundraiser at the college she works for. It’s for the performing arts and they always have a big star (singer, actor, etc.) come in for a concert as part of it. Well, they wanted an air purifier in their dressing room and we had one at home, so my wife brought it in.
Over a month ago in one of Sooz’s (@yanxchick) card chats she brought up autographs and one of the questions was “What is the wildest thing you’ve ever gotten autographed?” I really didn’t have anything two crazy, but when my wife brought up the air purifier in the dressing room I immediately thought of this… would the person sign it?
Sure enough they did! They addressed it to my wife and wrote, “Thanks for the air!” Amazing! So while it isn’t truly mine, I love that it’s in my house. I also love that my wife got it (not trying to say autograph collecting has rubbed off by any means… but she gets it). How fun is that? And also how awesome of that person to be willing to have some fun like that. To be honest, I don’t know if it was mentioned to them or not, but maybe even better if it wasn’t.

This week was #newyorkstateofmind week. I think I had all of the sports (that I collect anyway) and good amount of the teams in New York state represented. I guess I missed an opportunity to somehow do a theme within a them for the #twofortuesday… like maybe something for Buffalo. As for the Breaking Blasters post, I hadn’t done one of those in a really long time and had missed some prior opportunities to get others out so it was nice to complete one.

Other Notes
Two out of the last three weeks have been pretty disappointing volume-wise. I only had eleven returns this past week. There was definitely some good stuff coming back and from a few players that I had written off returns from and some first-time returners, just the volume was down. The big stragglers were Kenny Gattison (374 days), Mile May (321), and Jimmy Garoppolo (300).
