I have to admit that earlier in the past week I was not following what was going on in the world. I had no idea about the smoke from the Canadian wildfires. I walked out on Monday to do my walk and when I came back in I just said that the sky looked really odd. She didn’t say anything and probably thought I was an idiot.
Then I think it was Tuesday I found out and it got worse. Wednesday I went out to do my walk and I could smell it and it was even worse than the day before so I didn’t walk. Schools were cancelling outdoor stuff all over the place. It’s amazing that it came down here to Northern Virginia. I just feel for all the folks north of us and in Canada because it must be bad.
This week we have an awards show at the Kennedy Center. Crossing fingers for a good result!

Other Notes
This week started off like gangbusters! On Monday I got back eleven returns. One of them was a failure, and it was my only one for the week. But I was thinking, “Wow, if I got back fifteen last week and it was a good week then this week will be great. Well, it cooled off significantly and I only got five returns the rest of the week. Still a great week with sixteen total coming back, but it was driven by Monday.
The failure I got was from Keith Willis. I sent to him in February at North Carolina AT&T and he is no longer at the school. I only had one straggler for the week and that was Brett Butler at 600 days. I swear I sent to him more recently than that.
