I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas or whatever holiday you are celebrating. Or even if that was just a day off.
I got a couple of old wax boxes from some relatives but this time instead of baseball I got a little football. That will hopefully spice up my TTMs a little bit in the new year. My other family who usually gets me cards generally gets me new stuff and since there’s really been nothing in the stores, there wasn’t much chance of that happening.
Hopefully something comes out of the boxes that I got that I’ll be able to show on the blog in the coming weeks. I’m planning on having a little fun with them as always.
Stay safe out there!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Fred Marion
- Tuesday: Tim Goad, Dennis Lamp
- Wednesday: Tom Brunansky
- Thursday: Fred Kendall, Card Thoughts: 1990 Pacific Senior League – Senior-itis
- Friday: Joe Sambito
- Saturday: Stephen Gostkowski
- Sunday: Ben Coates
#imshippinguptoboston week had a pretty good variety too it. That’s what I think I liked best. It was a lo more football this week than I normally get so that was definitely nice. It was also nice to get to looking at those Senior League cards. I have a few of those out in the mail as I write this.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Was he the guy the movie was named for?
- Tuesday: Is he a type of tree?
- Tuesday: Sounds like a champagne brand…
- Wednesday: A Fisher-man
- Thursday: Did he have a talk show a long time ago?
- Friday: He should have his own brand of laser…
- Saturday: With a Y!
- Sunday: Maybe he heard a Who…
We coming down to the end of my song-themed weeks. This coming week will be #shetalkstoangels week. That will mean lots of California Angels. And yes, they are California Angels and not Los Angeles Angels or Anaheim Angels or even Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Other Notes
Holy Canoli! This week was a TTM explosion.
You can tell when the mail has problems when the mail you are getting back has post marks from the beginning of the month. This week I got 20 returns. That was the most I’d gotten in a week in a while.
That brings the backlog up to 313! That’s 12 more than it was last week. Usually it only goes up by a few in a good week.
But I also had four failures this week. My failures for this month will definitely be a bit higher than usual I think. Two of them, Buddy Biancalana and Tom Brunansky, are now guys that charge. Biancalana looks like he is asking for $10 per and Brunansky is now on PastPros. The other was just a try for a non-sport person who I took a chance on.
Stay safe and healthy out there!
