The Story of the Autograph
Phil Garner is a former infielder and manager in the major leagues. He played in Oakland, Pittsburgh, Houston, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He later managed in Milwaukee, Detroit and Houston. His nickname was “Scrap Iron” for his scrappy and tough play, it also fit right in when he went to play in Pittsburgh.

Phil is a great signer but the think that I always remember about it is how little it always is. It’s pretty fancy for a guy nicknamed “Scrap Iron” as well. The last time I sent to him he didn’t sign the 1977 Topps card and I was wondering if there was a reason but he signed it this time.
Thanks Mr. Garner! I’m giving this return a 5.5.
