The Story of the Autograph
Pete Filson is a former left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He was mostly used as a reliever during seven seasons from 1982 to 1990 with the Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, and Kansas City Royals.
Filson was born and raised in Pennsylvania and attended Temple University. The New York Yankees drafted him in the ninth round of the 1979 MLB Draft. Before he could appear in the majors with them he was traded to the Twins with Larry Milbourne and John Pacella for Roger Erickson and Butch Wynegar. He then made his major league debut with the Twins just a little later on May 15, 1982.
His best season in the majors was in 1984 when he went 6-5 with a 4.10 ERA in 55 appearances with seven starts. Overall he went 15-18 with a 4.18 ERA in 148 games with 34 starts. He was actually playing baseball as recently as 2006 with the Newark Bears.
The Score on Pete Filson – 6.5
I don’t know what is going on with Pete’s last name. I sort of see the “F” and then it looks like there is a circle for the dot on his “i”. It definitely makes things interesting though and you can tell its his signature.
Thanks Mr. Filson. I’m giving this return a 6.5. overall.
