The Story of the Autograph

Pete Chilcutt is a former forward in the National Basketball Association. He played from 1991 to 2000 with the Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, Vancouver Grizzlies, Utah Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Clippers.

Chilcutt is a native of South Carolina. He went to high school in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and was highly recruited. He went on to become a UNC Tar Heel. After a college career that saw him become a third-team All-ACC player while in Chapel Hill, he was then drafted by the Kings with the 27th overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft.

He was always a role player in the league. The most games he would start is 24 which he did for the Kings in 1993-94. That year he was traded to the Pistons with a second round draft pick for 1994 and a 1999 first round pick for Olden Polynice. He was released and then signed by the Rockets. He was lucky enough to be part of their 1995 NBA Championship winning squad.

He’d played with five other teams before calling it a career. He then became a sixth grade teacher in science and math in California. He also founded a basketball academy.

The Score on Pete Chilcutt – 6.0

There isn’t too much complication in Pete’s signature. It’s a pretty standard style. You can see he personalizes and kind of sneaks in a message in them too which means there’s definitely a lot of ink on your card. That’s always a pretty good thing. The only challenge in that is that the basketball cards tend to be so busy it means there’s a lot going on.

Thanks Mr. Chilcutt! I’m giving this return a 6.
