The Story of the Autograph

Mike Trujillo is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1985 to 1989 with the Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Detroit Tigers.

Trujillo is a native of Colorado. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the seventh round of the 1982 MLB Draft. He never appeared for the White Sox. In September of 1984 he was traded to the Giants for Tom O’Malley, but he never appeared in a Giants uniform either. The Red Sox took him in the Rule 5 Draft and he made his major league debut for them on April 14, 1985.

He went 4-4 in 27 appearances, seven of them starts, with a 4.82 in his rookie season. The Red Sox then traded him to the Mariners in 1986 sending him to Seattle with Mike Brown for Dave Henderson, Spike Owen, and Rey Quinones. He would play two years with the Mariners with his best shot being 1987 before moving on to the Tigers for the final two years of his career.

Mike has a really fun signature. I will say though that his “M” doesn’t look much like an “M”. Maybe that’s just something he puts before that first letter that is messing me up though. I really like how the “jillo” part of his name comes out though.
