The Story of the Autograph
Mike Bibby is a former point guard in the NBA. He played from 1998 to 2012 with the Vancouver Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks.
Bibby, the son of former NBA player Henry Bibby, was born in New Jersey and grew up in Arizona. After winning a state championship in high school he went on to attend the University of Arizona and play for Lute Olson. He helped the Wildcats to the 1997 NCAA Championship, defeating the Kentucky Wildcats. That made he and his father one of four father son duos to win an NCAA championship. He was the Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and then Pac-10 Player of the Year the following season and entered the NBA Draft. He was taken by the Grizzlies, then in Vancouver, with the second overall pick.
He spent some solid seasons in Vancouver and was then traded to Sacramento with Brent Price for Jason Williams and Nick Anderson just before the team moved to Memphis. He spent the most significant time with the Kings and helped them to a lot of success alongside Chris Webber. That included an NBA best record of 61-21 in 2001-2002. That led to an awesome postseason series with the Lakers that the Kings ultimately lost. The Kings started to take steps backwards each year after that due to injuries and other issues.
After that Bibby moved around a bit to Atlanta, Washington, Miami, and New York. Since his playing days ended he’s coached high school teams at his alma mater and his son in AAU.

I almost completely forgot that Mike had played for the Knicks. I guess some rough years for the team will do that to a memory. These rubbed a little bit in the envelope, but that NBA Hoops cards is one of those cards that’s kind of made for a signature with that design. The other card just looks odd with that Kings uniform.
