The Story of the Autograph
Kevin Hatcher is a former defenseman in the NHL. He played from 1984 to 2001 with the Washington Capitals, Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, and Carolina Hurricanes.
Hatcher is a native of Michigan. After playing in the MNHL and the OHL, he was drafted with the 17th overall pick in the 1984 NHL Draft by the Capitals. He would spend the majority of his career in Washington through the 1993-’94 season. Druing that time he would make three All-Star games in consecutive years from 1990 to 1992.
His best seasons were with the Caps. In 1990-’91 he had a career high in assists with 50, adding 24 goals to that for 74 points. Then in 1992-’93 he scored a career high 34 goals and added 45 assists for a career high 79 points.
In January of 1995 he was traded to the Star and would bounce around a bit for the rest of his career. That deal was for Rick Mrozik and Mark Tinordi. After that season he was traded to the Penguins for Sergei Zubov. In 1999 he was move to the Rangers for Peter Popovic. Then in 2000 he signed as a free agent with the Hurricanes. He would make two more All Star appearances in 1996 and 1997 with the Stars and Penguins.
Hatcher participated in the Olympics in 1998 representing the United States. He is also a 2010 inductee to the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

Kevin looks like he has a really interesting signature. Unfortunately on these, that marker just didn’t do him any favors. It could be that he signs fast and that doesn’t let the marker work as well, but to me this looks like this marker was running out of ink a bit. I think the best one of these is the 1990 Score card. I’ll definitely have to try him again sometime.
