The Story of the Autograph

Ken Harvey is a former linebacker in the NFL. His career spanned from 1988 to 1998 and during that time he played for the Phoenix Cardinals and Washington Redskins.

Harvey is a Texas native. He went to college at California, Berkeley and was take by the Cardinals with the twelfth overall pick in the first round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He was starter in the desert by the second year of his career, registering 120 tackles that year. In his third season he had 10 sacks and almost 100 tackles.

In 1994 he moved on to Washington and finished out his career there. In his first season in DC he set a career high in sacks with 13.5. He also started a consecutive run of honors. He made his first Pro Bowl and that would be the first of four straight. He also was Second-team All-Pro and was the first of two consectutive of those as well.

After moving to DC he started doing commentary for the Washington Post in videos with fans as well as a column that he wrong. He’s an author of several children’s books as well with one of his more recent being illustrated by former teammate Terry Crews.

I really like Ken’s signature, but on this return the marker failed him a bit. Something I find interesting is that when he sign’s his “K” it look like the vertical line and then the diagonal lines don’t really like up. It’s a neat quirk and makes it interesting. These cards definitely give him a good place to show it off too, except for maybe the 1991 Pro Set card.
