The Story of the Autograph
Joe Jacoby is a former left tackle in the NFL. He played from 1981 to 1993 and was a member of the famed “Hogs” offensive line of the Washington Redskins for his entire career.
Jacoby was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He went to the University of Louisville where he was a team captain in his senior season. He went undrafted and signed as a free agent with Washington in 1981. He would start games in his first season an see a lot of success in his years in the District, starting in year one when the Pro Football Writer’s Association chose him for the All-Rookie Team.
From 1983 to 1986 he was a four-time Pro Bowler. He also earned First-Team All-Pro honors in two of those years, plus again in 1987. He was part of three Super Bowl championship teams in 1983, 1988, and 1992. He and the Hogs were one of the greatest, if not the greatest, offensive line in football history. Maybe the most well-known as a group.
After football he’s owned a car dealership and coached at Shenandoah and Concordia/
The Score on Joe Jacoby – 6.5
Joe does a great job putting a lot of ink on your cards. His repetitive initials certainly give his signature some character and the “y” at the end of his name certainly adds to that too as he seems to add a little flourish to the loop. These came out great aside from the smudge on the 1991 Score card.
