The Story of the Autograph

Jim Lindeman is a former major league player who played from 1986 through 1994. He played for the Cardinals, Tigers, Phillies, Astros and Mets.

Lindeman was born and raised in Illinois and attended Bradley University. The Cardinals drafted him with their first round pick in the 1983 MLB Draft. He worked his way through the Cardinals system and made his major league debut on September 3, 1986.

He never played more than 75 games in any season with that total coming in one of his most successful seasons, 1987. During that season he filled in for an injured Jack Clark and made appearances in the NLCS against the Giants and the World Series against the Twins. In each of those series he hit over .300 and totaled nine hits, one homer and five RBI.

The Cardinals traded Lindeman to the Tigers in December of 1989 and from there he jumped around a little. He did spend two seasons with the Phillies, but still didn’t get into more than 65 games in a season with them.

These days Lindeman and his family live in Illinois and he teaches PE and coaches.

The Score on Jim Lindeman – 6.0

Jim has an interesting signature in that his first name just sort of flows, while his last name is more detailed. I’d say that he just uses his first initial but you can kind of see a dot for an “i”. He fills up the card pretty well and he has some tall capital letters.

Thanks Mr. Lindeman! I’m giving this return a 6.
