The Story of the Autograph
JaCoby Jones, nicknamed “Juicy J”, is an outfielder with the Detroit Tigers. He’s been in the major leagues since, 2016 and has spent his entire career in Detroit.
Jones was born in Oklahoma and grew up in Mississippi. After starring for his high school and being named the 2010 Mississippi High School Player of the Year and the Louisville Slugger Mississippi Player of the Year, he was drafted by the Astros in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB Draft. He didn’t sign and chose to attend LSU. The Pirates came calling in 2013 and drafted him in the third round that year.
After two years in the Pirates minor league system he was traded to the Tigers in exchange for Joakim Soria in July of 2015. After beginning the 2016 season in the minors, the Tigers called him up and he played his first major league game on August 30. Next season he was the Opening Day centerfielder.
Thus far he’s had some injury issues that have limited his time in the majors. Aside from 2018 when he played in 129 games, he hasn’t appeared in more than 88 in any other season. This year he had an exciting moment when he hit his first inside the park home run.

I found JaCoby’s home address on SCF and decided to give it a shot before the season this year. I figured it was worth a try and at the time we didn’t know if there was even going to be any baseball. I was glad it paid off because these came out really well. I especially like the 2017 card.
