The Story of the Autograph
Jack Youngblood is a former defensive end in the National Football League. He played from 1971 to 1984 and spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Rams.
Youngblood was born and raised in Florida. He played on the offensive and defensive lines during high school and captained his team to a state championship while earning All-State honors in 1966. He’s been recognized at least twice as one of Florida’s all-time best high school football players. He went on to the University of Florida where he was part of the teams that tested what would become Gatorade. He would have a college career that earned him a place in the College Football Hall of Fame.
He started in the NFL by being drafted in the first round of the 1971 NFL Draft by the Rams with the 20th overall pick. He earned All-Rookie honors that first season as he replaced the great Deacon Jones when he was injured. He went on to eight All-Pro selections (five First-team and three Second-team) and seven Pro Bowls. He was recognized as part of the 1970’s All-Decade Team and has had his number 85 retired by the Rams. Most notably, he was named to the NFL Hall of Fame 2001.
As for his stats, he led the league in sacks twice. The first time in 1974 when he had 15 and the second in 1979 with a career high 18. Overall he had more than ten sacks eight times in his career and from 1973 to 1976 he had at least 14.5 each year.
Youngblood has been and is still heavily involved with different types of charities. After he finished playing he went into acting and broadcasting and wrote a biography. He also worked in the front office for the Rams, and some other non-NFL teams.

This is one of those where I only which football cards weren’t so busy. I think there’s a really awesome signature under there but its hard to see when everything going on on these. I love that he included the “HOF ’01” inscription on all of these, and I got an extra card out of it.
