The Story of the Autograph

Don Mosebar is a former professional football player. He played in the NFL for the Raiders in both Los Angeles and Oakland from 1983 through 1995. He played at Center.

Mosebar was born in Washington state but grew up in California. He went to USC and was drafted by the Raiders in 1983 as their first round pick that year, the 26th overall pick of the draft. He played immediately but at right guard for the first two years of his career. He then moved on to Center.

He went to the Pro Bowl three times (1986, 1990, and 1991) and was the anchor for some really good offensive lines. He went to the playoffs a few times under coach Art Shell in 1990, 1991 and 1993. Unfortunately one of those years was a 51-3 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills and their no-huddle offense. That was the year that Bo Jackson was lost to a hip injury.

Mosebar suffered a career ending injury during training camp in 1995. The incident, an fist to the eye socket, led to the removal of his eye.

Dan doesn’t have a big signature, but he puts enough stuff on that card to make it big. Unfortunately with these all being in Raider black, two of the cards are a bit tough for an autograph. The 1991 Pacific is my favorite of the bunch though. Something that is that these cards are from some of his great years. It’s always nice to not only have the cards, but have them signed too.

Thanks Mr. Mosebar! These get a 5.
