The Story of the Autograph
Darrin Jackson is a former outfielder who played with the Cubs, Padres, Blue Jays, Mets, White Sox (twice), Twins, and Brewers. He also played in Japan for the Seibu Lions. His career in the major leagues lasted from 1985 through 1999.
Jackson was born and raised in southern California and was drafted by the Cubs in the second round of the 1981 MLB Draft. He would first appear in a game on June 17, 1985. Unfortunately he only saw action in five games that year and wouldn’t get another opportunity until two years later when he had only seven games in 1987. 1989 was a different story as he appeared in 100 games.
He only really played significant time in three seasons where he got over 350 plate appearances: 1991 and 1992 with the Padres and then 1994 with the White Sox. When he did get time he put up double digit homers and almost 50+ RBI in those years. He had some great numbers in the two years he spent in Japan and then came back to the majors to finish out his career for a few more years.
These days he works radio broadcasts for the White Sox.

I felt like I had tried for Darrin’s signature a couple times before this success so I am glad I finally got something back. He has a somewhat small and simple signature. But it does stick out pretty well on these cards. I have to say these cards are very brignt and colorful (even if one has brown in the team colors).
