The Story of the Autograph

Bryan Little is a former second baseman in the major leagues. He played from 1982 to 1986 and during that time he played for the Montreal Expos, Chicago White Sox, and New York Yankees.

Little is a native of Texas. He went to Louisburg College in North Carolina and then to Texas A&M. He was drafted twice before he signed. He was first drafted by the Expos while he was at Louisburg College in the fifth round of the 1978 MLB Draft. The Expos then drafted him again two years later after he had moved on to Texas A&M in the ninth round of the 1980 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut with them on July 29, 1982.

He played in 29 games that first season and only hit .214. He would get a better shot in his second season though and it would be the best shot he would get. He played in 106 games that year and hit his first of three career home runs with a career high of 36 RBI and a career high .260 average. He was traded to the White Sox the following season for Bert Roberge and move on the to the Yankees in the 1986 season.

He is the brother of former major league manager Grady Little. These days he works for the White Sox as an advance scout and special instructor.

Bryan sure doesn’t have a… little… signature. See what I did there? These came out great. I love when the signatures of the guys that don’t do that much in the league stand out above a star player type. It makes getting their signatures so much more interesting. I think my favorite of these ins the 1984 Topps card.

Thanks Mr. Little! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
