The Story of the Autograph

Brad Moore is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played in just a few games in two seasons (1988 and 1990) with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Moore was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. He was not drafted or offered any scholarships out of high school, most likely because was shorter. He played for Garden City Community College in Kansas while he grew to be 6’7″. He got a scholarship to Grand Canyon University and helped them to the NAIA World Series.

He was never drafted and went to an open tryout at a high school in Colorado. The Phillies signed him and he started in their minor league system in 1986. He made his major league debut on June 14, 1988, jumping from Double-A to the majors. He played in five games that season and didn’t give up a run in 5.2 innings. He would then spend the entire 1989 season in the minors before appearing again in the 1990 season, making three appearances with his last being on April 25, 1990.

He would continue in the minors with the Mets, Reds, and Pirates but never made it back tot he majors. From there he went to China and played for the Wei Chuan Dragons in 1994. In more recent years he’s coached at the high school level in his hometown.

The Score on Brad Moore – 6.5

This is a pretty standard one for Brad, but it’s a good one. He doesn’t have many cards. It’s actually kind of amazing that he even has this one after he only appeared five times in the majors the season before this card came out. It makes you wonder how they were trying to fill out the Phillies contingent of cards that year. I think I’ll have to find some minor league cards of his.

Thanks Mr. Moore! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
