The Story of the Autograph
Bobby Hansen is a former guard in the National Basketball Association. He played from 1983 to 1992 primarily with the Utah Jazz and then later in his career with the Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls.
Hansen is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. He didn’t go two far for college as he became an Iowa Hawkeye while Lute Olson was there. He was a key player in Iowa’s run to the 1980 Final Four. He helped the Hawkeyes to a few 20+ win seasons and a Sweet 16 before he left school. The Jazz then selected him with a third round pick in the 1983 NBA Draft.
He played his first seven seasons with Utah. He was starting in his third year and would start all or most of the games in four of the next five seasons with the Jazz. He never missed the playoffs with them, getting as far as the Western Conference semi-finals in 1984 and 1988. In 1990 he participated in the three point competition and finished fourth.
The Jazz traded him to the Kings in 1990 and then he moved on to the Bulls just two games into his final season of 1991-’92. That turned out to be a good one to join the Bulls as they won their second championship in that season. Then Hansen retired and became the color-commentator for Iowa basketball.

Bobby has a great signature but I don’t know that all these cards really give him a chance to show it off. I think the blue looks best on the Kings card, but I was glad to get the other. The Jazz card because that’s really where he played most of this career, and the Bulls cards because that’s where he got a championship ring. One thing I like its how he circles his number with the “y” in his first name. But he doesn’t do that on all the cards.
