The Story of the Autograph

Adam Peterson is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He was a starter the majority of his career and played for the Chicago White Sox and San Diego Padres from 1987 to 1991.

Peterson was born in California but grew up in Utah. The White Sox drafted him in the fifth round of the 1984 MLB Draft out of high school. After three years in the minors he made his major league debut on September 19, 1987.

After making his debut he still spent more time in the minors for the first three seasons. He only played in a max of three games once in those years. A double digit ERA in his appearances in those seasons didn’t help. But in the minors he helped the Vancouver Canadians win the Triple-A World Series.

He played more in 1990 getting into a career high 20 games with 11 starts. He went 2-5 with a 4.55 ERA over 85 innings. He was traded with Steve Rosenberg to the Padres for Joey Cora, Warren Newson and a minor leagues. There he played 13 games with another 11 starts in 1991 and went 3-4 with a 4.45 ERA in 54.2 innings. Unfortunately that would be the last of his time in the majors for his career.

Wow! Adam used one of the thickest and strongest markers I have ever seen. I feel like that’s that black that is a pure black, but I forget what they call it. That’s cutting through everything. I think my favorit of these is the 1991 Topps though.

Thanks Mr. Peterson! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
