The Story of the Autograph
Aaron Nola is a starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. He broke into the league with the Phillies in 2015 and has been in Philadelphia since then.
Nola was born and raised in Louisiana and played his college ball at LSU after being name “Mr. Baseball” in the state. The Phillies drafted him with the seventh overall pick of the 2015 MLB Draft in 2014. He made his major league debut on July 21, 2015.
He’s made a pretty good progression over the last few years to become an ace on the Phillies staff. Last year he helped the improved Phillies by going 17-6 with a 2.37 ERA and 224 strikeouts. While that helped him earn his first All-Star appearance and got him votes for the Cy Young and MVP, the Phillies couldn’t capitalize on it to get into the postseason.
This year might be a bit different. With a lot of offseason additions, really BIG offseason additions, the Phillies are looking to improve even more. With another strong performance by Nola to lead the Phillies staff, they could be well on their way to not only a Playoff berth, more maybe more than that.
The Score on Aaron Nola – 6.5
This is my first return from Aaron and I’m loving it. The 2018 base card is really great because it shows the autograph off the best. But the blue marker with the blue accents on the card that’s primarily red really makes it stick out. On top of that, he really has a cool signature. I love the way e signs his last name.
