The Story of the Autograph

Mike Cameron was a major league outfielder for 17 years. During that long career e played for the White Sox, Reds, Mariners, Mets, Padres, Brewers, Red Sox and Marlins. He made one All-Star team and three Gold Glove awards.

Cameron was born and raised in Georgia, and while he played baseball during is high school years, he didn’t during is junior year. That was the year his grandmother kept him from playing because he failed a chemistry class. Even though that cut down on the scouts that saw him, the White Sox did and they drafted him out of high school in the 18th round of the 1991 Draft. He would debut for the White Sox on August 27, 1995.

Along with his All-Star appearance and Gold Glove Awards, he has a few other feats. He hit four home runs in one game while playing for the Mariners in 2002. He is also the only player to hit two home runs in the same game for eight different teams. Of course, playing for eight teams is almost a feat in itself. And for his career he was the 20th player to reach 250 homers and 250 stolen bases.

This is my second return from Mike and you can check out the other cards from him from my post back in July of 2017.

Mike has a great signature and it came out on all of these. I just think my favorite is the 2009 Topps cards. I’m actually pretty surprised that the Upper Deck card came out well because a lot of times those cards don’t. Or they haven’t for me.

Thanks Mr. Cameron! I’m giving this one a 7.
