The Story of the Autograph
Earnest Byner is a former running back in the NFL. He played from 1984 through 1997 with the Browns (twice), Redskins and Ravens (which in some way is the Browns). He’s a Super Bowl Champion and two-time Pro Bowler who also later coached.
Byner played as a fullback at East Carolina University from 1980 through 1983. He was drafted by the Browns in the tenth round of the 1984 NFL Draft. In his early stint with the Browns he had some great years and played in some really big games. Unfortunately for Byner, the Browns were usually on the wrong side in some of the biggest games of the mid-80’s like Elway and the Broncos famous win against them. Byner played a big part in that game and all I have to tell you is “The Fumble.”
He moved on the the ‘Skins where he was a Pro Bowler twice and helped them wit the Super Bowl. He returned to Cleveland and then moved to Baltimore with the team for the 1996 season. Byner’s best year was 1990 wit the skins wen he rushed for 1200+ yards and 6 touchdowns and added another 279 yards receiving and a touchdown.
The Score on Earnest Byner – 5.5
Earnest has a good signature but I just didn’t give him great cards to sign. Te blue marker cuts through a lot of the busy nature of these cards but not enough to make it stand out consistently on all of them. He’s has a good size to his signature and what I find interesting is that it looks like he signs his first name larger than is last.
Thanks Mr. Byner! I’m giving these a 5.5 overall.
