The Story of the Autograph
Dave Telgheder is a former right-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He worked both as a starter and a reliever during his six seasons in the bigs. He played from 1993 to 1998 for the New York Mets and Oakland Athletics.
Telgheder is a New York native. He went on to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst and then was selected by the Mets in the 31st round of the 1989 MLB Draft. After a few years in the minors he debuted on June 12, 1993. He went 6-2 in 24 games with seven starts and a 4.76 ERA in that first season in Queens. He played two more season in the Mets organization but was mostly up and down.
After the 1995 season he was signed by the A’s as a free agent. His playing time picked up for them in the next two seasons where he worked mostly as a starter, but unfortunately he maxed out at 20 appearances and his ERA was north of 4 both years. After one more year in Oakland he made his last major league appearance on June 2, 1998. He tried to make it again with the Indians but was never in the majors again.
These days he is a Principal in Minisink, New York.
The Score on Dave Telgheder – 7.0
Dave has a really great signature. The marker does seem a little like on these, but despite that it seems to hold out and come out great. I think most of these cards are really bright and show off a signature well so I think that was on his side. He has a really large signature on the cards too which is good.
Thanks Mr. Telgheder! I’m giving this return a 7.
