I took Friday off which I don’t normally do. I usually consider it such an easy day… why take it off? But this time around I really needed to use some PTO before I capped out again.
That meant a lot of time to do yardwork over a four-day weekend. I still hadn’t dealt with any of my leaves yet this year, which I’m sure the neighbor to my right loves. You see, that’s the way the wind tends to blow down my street. So I did feel a little bad about not dealing with them sooner. Just a little though.
The neighbor to my left is newer this Fall and he’s been dealing with leaves a lot more. But I feel like he could have waited longer like I did. My reason for waiting wasn’t really my own though. A combination of COVID, rain, family schedule, etc. just made it so that I couldn’t get to it sooner. But maybe that just saved me from myself.
In the end I only really got my front yard done, but I guess that’s the most important.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Bill Parsons
- Tuesday: John Stuper, Dave Heaverlo
- Wednesday: Carlos Carson
- Thursday: Mike Matheny
- Friday: Phil Nevin
- Saturday: Mariano Duncan
- Sunday: Steve Lubratich
There weren’t any themes this week that I had picked out but now I kind of see one. From Thursday to Saturday I posted all coaching returns that I had received last year. I’m still working through quite a backlog and I probably need to keep up with those a little more real time.
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Life is a Cadaret old chum…
- Tuesday: Send him to the Lyons…
- Tuesday: Andy is dandy…
- Wednesday: To the Max…
- Thursday: Giesel and Gals…
- Friday: Swisher Wet Jet…
- Saturday: Springer or Faller…
- Sunday: Ernie and Bert…
No themes again. Just digging through the oldest part of the backlog.
Other Notes
Thankfully with the ups and downs I’ve had in recent weeks this was a “up” week. Going backwards, this week was 22 returns and then previous weeks were 15, 28, 15, 17, 9, 21…. Definitely not as much consistency as I would like to see. But I’ll take a good amount of returns this week, especially with it being a short mail week.
I had one big straggler this week from John Wathan at 1579 days. I sent it in July of 2018. Not my longest straggler ever, but I don’t see things like that frequently. I also got paid returns from Kevin Bass and Jerry Reuss.

Have a great week!
