The Story of the Autograph

Eddie Fisher is a former pitcher in the major leagues. He played from 1959 to 1973 with the San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox (twice), Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, California Angels, and St. Louis Cardinals.

Fisher was born in Louisiana and grew up in Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma and was signed as an amateur free agent by the Giants in 1958. He worked mostly as a reliever during his career, but really did a little of everything. He had 82 career saves, but also had 63 career starts all scattered over his 15 seasons.

He made one All-Star game in 1965 while with the White Sox. That year he went 15-7 with a 2.40 ERA in 82 games with 24 saves. He actually received enough MVP votes that season to finish fourth. He was with the Orioles in 1966 when they won the World Series over the Dodgers but never appeared in a game as the there was only one relief appearance needed.

Fisher was involved in five different trades during his time in the league.

I don’t have a lot of doubles from guys in this era so when I find one of someone who signs I’m almost guaranteed to give it a shot. This one gave a Eddie a pretty good place to sign and it came out pretty well with the size that he signed.

Thanks Mr. Fisher! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
