I’ve been pretty good about staying home these last several months. But that means few trips to anyplace that might remotely have cards. My wife has been the one to really go out and do all the shopping and is taking the hit of being in public places for the most part.
But this past week I had to go into the office. It was really odd. It was almost like being there on a Saturday. There were only a few cars in the parking lot and it seemed like really no one was there. The roads were surprisingly busy for when I was driving but the closer you got to office buildings there wasn’t much happening.
While I was out I decided to see if I could stop at Target. I’d seen folks post about nothing being on the shelves, but I thought I would give it a shot.
There was nothing. It was somewhat depressing after not buying new cards since February. I know I can buy cards online, but I don’t get a lot of hobby boxes or things like that. I’ve bought cards online during all this, just not new cards. I guess I’ll just sort of stick to the old stuff for now.
But if this year didn’t get depressing enough, that trip made it even more.
The Review
Here’s what happened on the blog last week:
- Monday: Randy Martz
- Tuesday: Dennis Smith, Steve Rosenberg
- Wednesday: Paul Reuschel
- Thursday: Eric Metcalf
- Friday: Gerald Young
- Saturday: Dennis Lamp
- Sunday: Rey Sanchez
This week I decided to go back to random, “recent” posts. A lot of these worked around themes I have planned for different things in future posts. I think the returns were from the beginning of June (ish).
The Preview
Here’s what I have coming up for this week:
- Monday: Sting Ray…
- Tuesday: A Carrier of the ball, sometimes…
- Tuesday: Whitmore do you want from me?
- Wednesday: Off or on…
- Thursday: The Sims…ons…
- Friday: Riddle me this…
- Saturday: I have Acres of land…
- Sunday: Everybody wanna get Grimes-y…
#sunshinestate is the theme for next week as voted by my Twitter followers. Not many of them mind you, but the ones that voted picked to have Florida as the theme for the week. I’ll probably continue with the other themes from that poll in order of voting for the next few weeks while I prep some other themes.
Other Notes
Well so I spoke too soon last week with regard to things getting back to normal. I went back down to only eight returns. That’s only good enough to keep my backlog where it was last week at 251. It’s odd to say that my mood can be driven by what I get in the mailbox, or what I see on Informed Delivery, but somehow it is.
Stay safe and healthy out there!
