The Story of the Autograph
Terry Harmon is a former infielder in the major leagues. He played mostly at second base and shortstop during ten seasons from 1967 to 1977. He played his entire career with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Harmon was born and raised in Ohio. He attended Ohio University and was drafted from there by the Phillies in the fifth round of the 1965 MLB Draft. He made his major league debut two years later on July 23, 1967. However, during that season he made appearances in two games and didn’t get any at bats. It wasn’t until the 1969 season that he got another shot in the bigs.
Harmon was a typical light-hitting middle infielder of those days. He had a career .233 average and only hit over .250 twice in his career. He hit just four homers over the course of his career and those only came in two seasons, 1972 and 1977. He was part of the Phillies teams that won two consecutive NL East titles in 1976 and ’77 before he retired.
After his time in the majors he worked in sports television and for a home shopping channel.
The Score on Terry Harmon – 5.0
Terry Has a bit of a small signature. It looks like he tries to put it in a spot that might show it off better than another, but I’m not sure there was a great spot on this card. It looks like a pretty standard signature but at least you could pick it out as his.
Thanks Mr. Harmon! I’m giving this return a 5.
