The Story of the Autograph

Steve Buechele is a former third baseman in the majors leagues. His career spanned from 1985 to 1995 and during that time he played in eleven seasons. He played for the Texas Rangers (twice), Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs.

Buechele is from California. He was first drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the first round of the 1979 MLB Draft with the ninth overall pick. He instead decided to attend college and went to Stanford University. He was then drafted by the Texas Rangers in the fifth round of the 1982 MLB Draft. He would then make his major league debut on July 19, 1985.

He was starting at third by his second season in 1986. He had a few especially good years during his time in the majors. His first was 1988 when he hit .250 with 16 home runs and 58 RBI. He had another in his final season with Texas and while he was traded to the Pirates with Kurt Miller for a player to be named later. That year he hit a career high 22 homers with another career high in RBI with 85.

Buechele has been a coach and media personality with the Rangers for several years. He currently is a special assistant in the Rangers front office.

Steve used a great marker on these. It almost looks fake with these pictures, that’s how nice that black marker is. I think my favorite might be the 1990 Fleer card or maybe the 1987 Topps card. Steve does a great job to fill up the card pretty well too.
