I really wish I could get the same level of the “Madness” that I once did. When I was growing up I loved following March Madness. I would basically create an art project out of it and I would make the brackets and do logos and all sorts of stuff. I’d hang up stuff in my room. I have to admit, it was pretty awesome.
When I got to college I ran a pretty big pool for a couple years. That was really fun. I didn’t go to a D1 school so I didn’t have a dog (or an Eagle, or a Blue Devil, or whatever…) in the fight necessarily, but I loved basketball and college basketball specifically. I loved it all.
When I got my first real job I eventually got to running a pool again. I made it a way to raise some money and we would give a portion of entry fees to the Jimmy V Foundation. That was really fun but it was a lot of work. That was before you could do so much on the internet, plus I liked to run it myself even though it meant some late nights.
But eventually trying to collect money from people got me down. And then I started moving up and I had a lot less time. But I was still taking off some Thursday and Friday afternoons.
I definitely don’t get the time for the tournament and I really wish I followed more closely through the year. But I still get “The Madness” when the time comes. I just wish it hit me as deeply as it used to. Such a fun time of year.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and has a great week!

It was a Windy City #twofortuesday last week. We saw members of the Bulls and Bears make appearances. It was also a pretty eclectic week. I had multiple posts from mosts sports I collect and got all four in.

No #twofortuesday this week. I just didn’t see anything that worked out.
Other Notes
This was a very slow week and a little bit out of nowhere with how things have gone recently. I think I would chalk it up to how I sent out in recent weeks. I went on work travel for a week and sent what I would have for that next week out before I left. So then I didn’t have a consistent flow going out. Now I think that is effecting my returns a bit. Hopefully it will catch back up to me sending out like I normally do.
Not only did I have a slow week of just twelve returns, two of them were failures. So only ten successful returns for the week. There were three stragglers: Mike Loynd (476 days), Roger Salkeld (341 days), and Quinton McCracken (204 days). Unfortunately the McCracken appears to be a stamp, which I count as a success, but it’s a bad return anyway and severly smudged.
The Recent TTM Success page will be updated next weekend.
Have a great week!
