The Story of the Autograph
Floyd Bannister is a former left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. He played for the Astros, Mariners, White Sox, Royals, Angels and Rangers.
Bannister grew up in South Dakota and as a senior in high school went 15-0 with a 0.00 ERA to lead is school to the state championship. He then went on to Arizona State University and earned college player of the year honors as a Junior. The Astros then selected Bannister with the first pick of the 1976 MLB Draft.
The Astros had him in the bigs the next year and he made his debut on April 19, 1977. He had a long 15-year career and pitched for a ton of teams. He was never the best pitcher but he was always pretty solid. But he also played for a lot of teams that didn’t amount to a lot of wins and only made the postseason once in 1983 with the White Sox.
That was probably his best year both individually and team-wise. He did that a year after is only All-Star game and leading the league in strikeouts with 209.
The Score on Floyd Bannister – 6.5
Floyd is always a reliable signer. He has a pretty fancy signature too. He tends to use a thinner/lighter pen but always does a good job on the cards. This is my second success from Floyd while I’ve done the blog. Check out the other success in the post from July of 2017.
Thanks Mr. Bannister! I’m giving this return a 6.5.
