The Story of the Autograph

Doug Sisk is a former major league relief pitcher. He played from 1982 through 1991 with the New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles, and Alanta Braves.

Sisk is a native of Washington state and was signed as an amateur free agent out of Washington State University by the Mets. He made his debut as a September call-up in 1982. He didn’t have the greatest control as a pitcher and tended to walk batters.

His first two full years in the league weren’t two bad with ERAs just over 2. His 1982 season saw the most games he would pitch in his career with 67 and throwing 104.1 innings that year. But in both of those years he had 50+ walks as well.

Doug has a pretty fancy signature. The problem with these is that some of them are a bit rubbed off or smudged. I might have to try to find some more of these so I can send to Doug again in the future.

Thanks Mr. Sisk! I’m giving this return a 4.5.
