The Story of the Autograph

Cory Snyder played as an outfielder in the major leagues from 1986 to 1994. He played for the Indians, White Sox, Blue Jays, Giants and Dodgers. He was a good player with a good arm but was ultimately impacted by injuries.

Snyder went to BYU and was a three-time All-American. In his very first game with the Cougars he got hits in his first three at-bats. They were three home runs on three consecutive pitches. At one point the team during 1983 was ranked number one. He went on to the Olympics in 1984 and won a silver.

The Indians drafted him in the first round of the 1984 MLB draft with the fourth overall pick. His first season in the majors was 1986 and he debuted on June 13th. In his rookie season he hit .272 wit 24 homers and 64 RBI. That was good enough to earn fourth in the Rookie of the Year voting.

He had some really good seasons for the Indians including hitting his career high for average (.272 twice), his career high in homers (33) and his career high in RBI (82). He moved around a bunch after Cleveland though. They traded him to the White Sox who traded him later in the same season to the Blue Jays.  After that he moved on to the Giants and Dodgers as a free agent.

After playing he’s spent time as a manager and coach in the minors but also in Chinese Professional Baseball and the Mexican League.

Cory has a really solid autograph. I have another return from im from a while ago and he always seems to use a good marker. He’s definitely a consistent signer on the bottom part of a card.

Thanks Mr. Snyder! I’m giving this return a 6.0.
