The Story of the Autograph

Chad Kreuter played in the majors from 1988 through 2003. He played for several teams over that period: Rangers (twice), Tigers, Mariners, White Sox (twice), Angels (twice), Royals, and Dodgers. After spending four years with the Rangers and then three with the Tigers, he jumped around a whole bunch including back and fourth from the White Sox and Angels from 1996 through 1998.

Kreuter made his major league debut on April 27, 1988 with the Rangers. He only played 16 games that first season. The next season he played 87 games, but with a .152 average he was really cutting it. The next few years with the Rangers he wouldn’t see a lot of game time in the majors. He went to free agency and signed with the Tigers and that’s really were he had his best years.

He played in Detroit from 1992 to 1994. 1993 was a the best season of his career. It was the first time he would play more than 100 games (there was only one other year he did that in Kansas City) and his stats showed it.  He batted .286 with 15 homers and 51 RBI in 119 games. Those were all career highs by a lot.

These days you can find Chad coaching the St. Lucie Mets.

The Score on Chad Kreuter – 6.5

I’ve had a couple returns from Chad over the years. I think the other ones I’ve gotten back are better than this one. A little of that is the marker (blue and kind of light), a little of that is the cards (busy), and a little of that is the signature (looks like these were done a bit faster). These aren’t bad and I like that he has a pretty big signature. I think I just have better versions of a couple of these cards.

Thanks Mr. Kreuter! I’m giving these a 6.5.
