The Story of the Autograph

Brad Boxberger is a relief pitcher in the major leagues. He’s been in the major leagues since 2012 and has played with the Padres, Rays, Diamondbacks and currently plays for the Kansas City Royals.

Boxberger was born and raised in California. He attended USC and played baseball for the Trojans. The Reds drafted him in the first round of the 2009 MLB Draft but he was traded to the Padres before making his MLB debut. He made his first appearance on July 10, 2012 for the Padres, but was traded to the Rays after the next season.

2015 was his best professional year thus far. He replaced and injured Jake McGee as the closer for the Rays and took full advantage of the opportunity. He converted his first ten save chances and remained the closer when McGee returned. He was good enough to make the All-Star team and then end up leading the league by converting 41 of his 47 save chances.

Last year he picked up 32 saves with the Diamondbacks and this year he’s already tallied a save for the Royals.

The Score on Brad Boxberger – 5.5

Brad almost looks like he has two different style signatures. His first name seems more like a regular signature. Then his last name seems like a big jumble. I wonder if that’s partly because of the difference in size and/or complexity of his two names. I’m pretty sure that’s not a conscious thing though.

Thanks Mr. Boxberger! I’m giving this one a 5.5.
