The Story of the Autograph
Bill Laskey is a former pitcher in the major leagues for the San Francisco Giants, Montreal Expos, and Cleveland Indians. He played from 1982 through 1988 and he was primarily a starting pitcher but toward the end of his career he worked more as a relief pitcher.
Laskey was born-and-raised in Ohio and went to school at Kent State University for one year. The Tigers drafted him in 1977 (twice) but he didn’t sign either time. The Royals drafted him in 1978 in the second round of the draft and he chose to sign wit them. Before he could make it to the majors with the Royals they traded him to the Giants in 1981.
He made his major league debut on April 23, 1982. He won 13 games in each of his first two years wit the Giants but never had a winning record after that. In his rookie season he was even chosen for the All-Star game, however he was talked into giving his spot to Phil Niekro who was going to retire soon. Niekro ended up pitching for seven more years and Laskey never made the All-Star team again.
Laskey made is last appearance for the Indians on August 13, 1988.
The Score on Bill Laskey – 4.0
Bill has a somewhat good looking autograph. It might be small but that isn’t my main issue. My main issue is the ball point pen. It’s just always one of my pet peeves with signing. I might try sending to Bill another time to see if I can get signatures with a marker sometime but I’ll give him a break for now.
Thanks Mr. Laskey! I’m giving this return a 4.
