The Story of the Autograph
Floyd Rayford, nicknamed “Sugar Bear”, is a former catcher and third baseman in the major leagues. He played in seven seasons from 1980 to 1987 with the Baltimore Orioles (twice) and St. Louis Cardinals.
This is my second successful return from him. To find out more about him, and to see the first successful return, check out my post from February 2020.
The Score on Floyd Rayford – 7.0
Floyd has a great signature but this is a great example of cards that are made to be signed, and others that aren’t. The dark warmup jacket is just hiding his signature on the 1986 Topps card. The 1987 Topps card on the other hand is just perfect for a signature and he did a great job on it. I also like that card because it really highlights why he was dubbed “Sugar Bear”.
Thanks Mr. Rayford! I’m giving this return a 7 overall.
