The Story of the Autograph
Tommie Sisk is a former right-handed pitcher who worked as both a starter and a reliever during his time in the majors. He played from 1962 to 1970 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Chicago White Sox.
Sisk was born in Oklahoma and grew up in California. The Pirates signed him as an amateur free agent in June of 1960. He made his major league debut on July 19, 1962. But even though he appeared mid-season, he only made it into five games that first season with three starts. But he made 57 appearances the second year and spent the next seven years coming out of the Pirate bullpen.
Before his career ended he was part of three trades in the last two years of his career. He was moved to the Padres before the 1969 season, then to the White Sox before the 1970 season and midway through that same season the White Sox moved him to the Indians. He never appeared for the Indians though and even went to the Expos without appearing for them in the majors either before calling it a career.
The Score on Tommie Sisk – 7.5
Tommie did a great job signing this one. The marker is so strong and he put it in a place on the card that really shows it off well. That blue marker just sticks out so well on this one. Sometimes older cards don’t take the ink as well but this one looks great.
Thanks Mr. Sisk! I’m giving this one 7.5.
